Overview

In Summary...

Business Model takes no time pulling you into the trials and triumphs of AT&T’s Assistant Vice President David C. Williams, recent Legacy Award winner at the 2021 Black Engineer of the Year STEM Global Competitiveness Conference. David is fun, compassionate, drives $100Ms in business, and has the swaggiest sneakers. He is also an inaugural Dream in Black winner, Champion of Diversity  winner, and has been featured as the cover-story in several magazines, and interviews with Ebony, Fox, NBC, and more.

David is an anomaly. There’s no reserved parking for those who were not considered to make it. Stereotypes believe he’s not supposed to be leading one of the highest ROI yielding Robotics Process Automation programs, worldwide. He believes there are many anomalies, and everyone has a unique business model within themselves. That self-business model manifests from a combination of your past experiences and your professional passions. Knowing who we are, accepting that, and then leveraging that insight to our advantage is how we identify and ignite our inner business model.

This wonderfully empowering concept is encapsulated through a front row view into David’s journey as a youth, where he learned to become innovative, and business minded. Transferable skills like these are often abundant in us all, and especially within under-served communities. However, they are also often ignored when walking into work. Leveraging the unique perspectives that life offers us all is the key to unlocking the hidden business model within ourselves.

Business Model draws on character-shaping, early childhood experiences of life in South Dallas. A community that albeit tough, also provided the foundational keys that would later become the backdrop to greater success. The book touches on experiences that include tragic moments like the suicide of his father at the tender age of eight, the loss of many relatives, and even near-death experiences. The book also highlights how he authored patents, invented solutions driving $100Ms in financial impact, and developed a solution that enabled 40,000 employees to work from home securely during the COVID-19 pandemic. Also openly sharing interactions from the C-Suite to the cubicle, and every-level in between, we see David overcome obstacles.

David leveraged these insightful moments & relationships to become one of the best in his profession. His business model is a tightly woven combination of World-Class problem-solving skills from years of overcoming hardships and his passion to give back and drive a large positive impact on society at-large. In this literary work, you will see first-hand exactly how he crafted these massive innovations and thus discovered the answer to most of our challenges are already within because, you’re a Business Model.
