Upon winning the Legacy award at the 2021 Black Engineer of the Year Award conference, it was imperative to utilize this amazing opportunity to help others. Quickly several partnerships were forged with community engagement organizations to offer something new to underserved communities. The result, Tech Mentor - Solar Robot Workshops. Once a month we bring an exciting workshop to students/audiences that empowers them to rediscover their ingenuity & innovation. What started as Hometown Heroism transformed into Global Philanthropy. The workshop also provides an impactful introduction to solar energy/panels, robotics, & the importance of necessity. Each workshop includes a number of components such as

The initiative, executed inJuly 2023, brought some of the brightest students in the US to MIT (Massachusetts Institute of Technology) as the schools MITES (MIT Introduction to Technology, Engineering, and Science) program.
Together, Williams and Nancy Lieberman created a unique environment for young people to explore tech.
What we created is a Robot Dream Court. It’s a beautiful structure. It's four levels of Nancy's Dream Courts, but miniature size. There’s a Steph Curry court, a Kobe Bryant court, a Nancy Lieberman court, and an NLE Choppa court. Robots
can move from level to level as they play basketball. The robots are like little bulldozers, with LEGO-like attachments. The upper level courts have a higher point value.
It's really fun & competitive. Students can start with controlling the robot using a remote control. Then they can advance to drag and-drop programs or commands; which provide more control & functionality. Lastly, they can go all the way up to Python coding to navigate the robots, which is a highly sought-after (& paid) skill.
Some students struggle to find happiness while learning, for so many different reasons. The Robot Dream Courts help students find the fun factor in learning. We all need some enjoyment within our work - Basketball is fun. STEM is work. Robot Dream Courts bring the best of both worlds.
